Liquid chromatographic behavior of molecularly imprinted polymers with anticholinergic drugs as template

Objective:To synthesize molecularly imprinted polymers(MIP) with three anticholinergic drugs as template and investigate the liquid chromatographic behavior and recognition mechanism of them in different mobile phase systems.Methods:MIP were synthesized in acetonitrile using neotropine hydrochloride,penequinine hydrochloride and bencynonatine hydrochloride as templates,methacrylic acid as functional monomer and trimethylolpropane trimethylacrylate as crosslinker.After that,MIP were crushed,sieved and packed into standard HPLC column.Chromatographic behavior of the three MIP columns were studied in acetic acid-acetonitrile and ammonium acetate-acetonitrile mobile phase systems,respectively.Results:In the former mobile phase system,MIP-LC columns showed strong adsorption to analytes,while in aqueous mobile phase,in contrast to the behavior of C18 column,the retention time of analytes on three MIP-LC columns was tbencynonatine hydrochloridetneotropine hydrochloride tpenequinine hydrochloride.Conclusion:The chromatographic behavior of MIP columns was probably related to the action of their spatial structure and intramolecular hydrogen bond on analytes.
