Department of Neurology, Qinhuangdao Second Hospital(066600) Lin Xiaodong Zhao Li Li Fuxue,
The levels of thyroid hormones in 71 cases with stroke were determined by radioimmunoassy. The result showed that the levels of T3,FTs were markedly lower in patients than in controls, and T4,FT4,TSH were significantly higher in patients. Levels of thyroid hormones were significant changes in cerebral hemorrhage. The size of lesions had negative correlation with T3 and FT3 but positive with T4 and FT4 when the volume of hemorrhage was more than 30mL or the area of infarction more than 20cm2.Another result showed that levels of T4,FT4,TSH were decreased significantly and T3,FT3 was increase significantly after treatment. We concluded that there was outstanding relationship between severity of stroke and levels of thyriod hormones.
