Objective: To investigate Changes of interleukin-8 and nitric oxide in acute myocardial infarction(AMI) and its clinic significance. Methods: The serum levels of IL-8、NO in the patients with AMI(n=36)and unstable angina(UA,n=28)were measured by ELISA and modified Griess assay.Meantime 24 healthy subjects were selected as the controls. Results:Levels of IL-8 in AMI group was higher markedly than that of UA group(P0.01), and levels IL-8 in UA group were also more higher than that of control group (P0.01).Levels of IL-8 in AMI group were closely associated with the Killip’s grades about cardiac function. But the changes of NO were opposite to IL-8 among the three groups. Conclusion: IL-8、NO may be involved in the pathophysilology of AMI.
