A Comparative Observation of the Effect of Spasfon in Labour Progression

Objective:To observe the effect of spasfon for blocking cervical edeman during the first stage of labour,and the action of spasfon on the dilation of cervix,promotion of the progression of labour and safeguard of mothers and infants.Methods:200 puerperas who were in difficult labour with cervical edema and slow-dilation of the cervix in the time of active stage of labour were randomly divided into observation group(n=100)and control group(n=100).Spasfon 40mg was injected to the puerperas of observation group,while diazepam 10mg was used in the same way in the control group.The progression of labour,degree of subsidence of cervical edema,the rate of cesarean section and vaginal delivery,cervical laceration,Apgar score of neonatal and postpartum hemorrhage were compared between the two groups.Results:The duration of active stage of observation group was significantly shorter than that of control group(P0.01).There was no obvious difference in the time of second stage of labour in the two groups(P0.05).Compared with control group,the rate of subsidence of cervical edema and vaginal delivery was significantly higher in the puerperas of observe group(P0.05).There was no significant difference between two group in postpartum hemorrhage,cervical laceration,the Apgar score of neonatal(P0.05).Conclusion:Spasfon has better effect in subsidence of cervical edema and promotion of dilatation of cervix compared with diazepam.It can be effective to accelerate the progress of labour and to lower the rate of cesarean section.Spasfon had no adverse effects to puerperas and neonate.It would be value to use spasfon widely in clinic.
