Analysis on Risk Factors of Plasma Hypertonicity among Hospitalized Type 2 Diabetes

CHEN Lihong;CHENG Lihui;LI Sha;Department of Endocrine and Metabolism,the Third People’s Hospital of Chengdu City,Sichuan Province;
Objective:To investigate the risk factors of plasma hypertonicity among hospitalized Type 2diabetes.Methods:639type 2diabetes patients in hospital were enrolled.Blood and urine sample were collected on admission,and blood glucose,serum potassium,sodium,glycosylated hemoglobin,urine albumin/creatine was tested.Duration of diabetes was also obtained.Ordinal Regression model was used to predict the risk factors of plasma tonicity.Results:Elevated plasma tonicity was observed in 72.3% of the in-patient diabetic patients,and ratio of high tonicity is 43.3%.Blood glucose level,age,glycosylated hemoglobin,were related positively with hypertonicity(P0.05).Duration of diabetes was related negatively with tonicity(P0.05).No relationship was observed between gender,diabetic nephropathy with plasma tonicity(P0.05).Conclusion:Blood glucose level,age,and glycosylated hemoglobin,were risk factors of hypertonicity.
