LI Xiang,LIU Zhi-min.(Department of Endocrinology,Changzheng Hospital,Second Military Medical University,Shanghai 200003,China)
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is one of the most common chronic complications in diabetes. The several patholagical factors was found to be associated with hyperglycemia.Recently the effects of insulin and peptide C were focused on.Deficiency of insulin and peptide C could interfere the metabolism of neurotrophic factors in nerve fibers and lead to oxidative stress. It also be associated with apoptosis in peripheral and central nerve systems. The further study on the mechanism of diabetic peripheral neuropathy would provide better theoretical base for its prevention and treatment.
