Vascular Endothelial Specific Growth Factors and Diabetic Nephropathy

Diabetic nephropathy is one of the most common diabetic microvascular complications.It is known that there are various factors contributing to the development and progression of diabetic microvascular complications,such as metabolic disturbance,hemodynamic abnormality,the increase of growth factors and cytokines,activition of intracellular signal and gene polymorphism et al.Two kinds of vascular endothelial specific growth factors including vascular endothelial growth factor and angiopoietins is the most important growth factors acting on vascular endothelium.And there are tight relationship between above growth factors and diabetic nephropathy.Here is a review about them.
