Object: Compare the economic effect and safety of Cefepime and Ceftazidime to treat bacterial infection. Method: 120 cases bacterial infected patients were selected, then treated and observed in random control, Cefepime and Ceftazidime were 60 cases respectively. Administrative scheme: To treat urethra infection, Cefepime 1g every time, 2 times daily, Ceftazidime 1 g every time, 3 times daily; To treat the infections, Cefepime 2g every time. 2 times daily, Ceftazidime 2g every time, 3 times daily; For venous instillation, course of treatment was all 7 - 14d. The method of cost - effectiveness analysis in Pharmacoeconomics was applied. Residt: The effective ratio of Cefepime and Ceftazidime to treat bacterial infection was 91. 67% , 90. 00% respectively, Fully recover ration was 70. 00%, 66. 67% respectively, the incidence of adverse reaction of two drugs was 8. 33%, 10. 00% respectively. The cost - effectiveness ratio of Cefepime to treat three kinds of bacterial infection was lower than that of Ceftazidime. Conclusion: The ecnomical effect of Cefepime to treat bacterial infection excel Ceftazidime.
