Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Naoxintong Capsules combined with edaravone in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction. Methods Totally 116 patients with acute cerebral infarction admitted to the Department of Neurology in our hospital in2016 were randomly divided into the control group( treated with edaravone alone) and the observation group( treated with Naoxintong Capsules combined with edaravone),58 cases in each group. The two groups were treated for 2 weeks. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 72. 41%,which was significantly higher than 50. 00% of control group( P 0. 05). After treatment, the levels of IL-8 and hs-CRP in the two groups were significantly decreased, while the levels of FT_3 in the two groups were significantly increased, and the changes in the observation group was more significant( P 0. 05). After treatment, the levels of FT4 and TSH in the two groups were not significantly different from those before treatment( P 0. 05). After treatment, the scores of NIHSS in the two groups were significantly decreased, while the scores of ADL in the two groups were significantly increased, and the changes in the observation group was more significant( P 0. 05). There was no significant difference in the incidence rate of adverse reactions between the two groups( 20. 69% vs. 27. 59%,P 0. 05). Conclusion Naoxintong Capsules combined with edaravone is effective in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction without increasing the incidence of adverse reactions, which can effectively improve the long-term prognosis. The mechanism may be related to the reduction of the number of inflammatory mediators and the increase of FT_3 level.
