Significance and Practical Approaches of Dosage Form Improvement for Patent Re-Protection of Traditional Chinese Medicine by the Analysis of Big Data of Invalidation

Objective To clarify the significance of dosage form improvement for patent re-protection of traditional Chinese medicine,and explore its practical approaches. Methods Based on the result analysis of invalidation big data of patents of traditional Chinese medicine related inventions,the significance of dosage form improvement on the protection of traditional Chinese medicine patent was analyzed. From the examination standards of patent and the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine to find out the specific practical approaches and strategies for the protection of traditional Chinese medicine by dosage form improvement. Results Patent application for the dosage form improvement of traditional Chinese medicine was an effective way to re-protect traditional Chinese medicine patents. Conclusion Dosage form improvement is one of the ways to carry out the secondary development of traditional Chinese medicine,and it is also an effective way to re-protect the patents of traditional Chinese medicine. Aiming at the defect of traditional dosage forms,a new dosage form suitable for the traditional Chinese medicine is explored,and the optimum excipients,formulation and preparation technology are designed through a large number of experiments. Re-protection of traditional Chinese medicine patents can improve the patent protection system of traditional Chinese medicine and promote the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine industry.
