Effect of Quality Management Tools on Controlling the Drugs Proportion in the Hospital

Objective To investigate the effect of quality management tools on controlling the drugs proportion. Methods The drugs proportion in the hospital from 2012 to 2015 was statistically analyzed,the cause of the high drug proportion was found out by the fishbone analysis method,and the corresponding corrective measures were put forward according to the reasons. Results The high drugs proportion was found out by the quality management tools,and measures such as reasonable limits of drug procurement,training and promotion of rational drug use,the formulation and implementation of the corresponding assessment system were adopted according to the reasons. Finally the drug proportion in 2016 was significantly lower than that in 2015 [( 29. 96 ± 0. 78) % vs.( 34. 92 ± 0. 30) %,P = 0. 03 0. 05 ]. Conclusion The use of quality management tools can successfully reduce the drugs proportion in the hospital and reduce the patients' medical burden.
