Yang Jingyu Department of Chinese Languages and Literature of Zhongshan (Sun Yat-sen) University,Guangzhou Guangdong 510275
Three distributions of the aspect marker“le”were found in the Nanning Pinghua dia- lect.In these positions.“le”is used to show the completion of an action, the end of an event and the change of the situation separately. In this article,a software,MiniSpeechLab,is applied to analyze the shortening of“le”.It shows that the grammaticalization of“le”in semantics is correspondent to the shortness in phonology. The lengths of the pronunciation of these three markers are not the same, which can cause the different degrees of grammaticalization.
