The Definition and Grammatical Description of State Adjectives

State adjectives, are the most important nonprototypical members among adjectives. Previous studies on adjective are mostly based on attributive adjectives which are prototypical, while the state adjectives have rarely been discussed, which calls for a comprehensive and systematic study. This paper concerning all the adjectives, presents the defining standard of state adjectives and investigates their grammatical features in the hope of enriching and deepening the grammatical perception of Chinese adjectives.
