The Raised and Further Raised of Vowels in Zhuocang Dialect of Tibetan

The raise of non-high vowels and further raise of high vowles are a primary type in the sound change of vowel.In Zhuocang,a dialect of Amdo Tibetan in an agricultural area,high vowel-iand-umainly change into central vowel,apical vowel or semivowel of labiodental,with only a few changing into diphthong.It resuluts in the raise of most of clode-mid vowels are apicallized,but the process of diphtongization is just starting to emerge.A lot of back close-mid vowels are labiodentalized,but some of them are apicallized and others just changed into diphthongs.The raising process of open vowel is just at a preliminary stage.
