Biopsy specimens were labelled by 7 lectins (BsL, Con A, PWA, RCA, SBA, SJA, UEA) both in the normal skin and in the psoriatic lesions before and after treatment with taking MTX by mouth. In specimens obtained two weeks after taking MTX, Con A labelling showed negative reactivity, and the staining intensity of UEA was lower than that pre-treatment or the positon of positive reactivity moved upward. The distribution of BSL receptors showed no alteraton. Six weeks after treatment the lesions cleared and the distribution of receptors of BaL, Con A and UEA in cleared lesions was close to that in normal skin.
