Investigation on Candida Infection and Drug Sensitivity Assay in Chronic Prostatitis

Objective To study the relation of chronic prostatitis and the infection of candida.Methods Candida culture was carried out with prostatic fluid of CIP patients and the drug sensitivity assay in positive samples were done.Results 59 of 512 cases were infected with candida,the total positive rate was 11.5%.33 strains were candida albicans(6.4%),18 strains were candida parapsilosis(3.5%),and 8 other candida(1.5%).The highest susceptibility rate of candida to six kinds of anti-candida drug was AMB and Nystatine(100%),the second was ketokonazole(97.0%).The highest resistant rate of candida was 5-FC(57.6%).Conclusion Candida infection rate is 11.5% in chronic idiopathic prostatitis patients,candida albicans is the major(6.4%).AMB and NYS are the most sensitive drug.
