Effect of various penetration enhancers on transdermal absorption of sinomenine by electroporation

Objective To study the effect of five various penetration enhancers on the transdermal absorption of sinomenine by electroporation. Methods Two-chamber diffusion cell was used and sinomenine was determined by HPLC. The effect of the combination of electroporation with Azone, oleum menthae, Tween-80, propanediol, and TEG400 on transdermal absorption of sinomenine was observed under electroporation parameters. Results Azone and oleum menthae had positive effects on the transdermal absorption of sinomenine by electroporation, while the others not. Conclusion There is very different effects on the transdermal absorption of sinomenine with various penetration enhancers under electroporation conditions and combination of electroporation with penetration enhancers have good applied prosperities.
