RESPONSE ANALYSIS OF A TYPE OF FLEXIBLE JOINT UNDER EXCITATION OF RANDOM ROAD SURFACE

Flexible joint is the weakest component of a dynamically tuned gyroscope(DTG).When transported without power supply,inertial forces and moments of the DTG rotor will all act on flexible joints.If a missile with this kind of DTG can be transported without power supply or not depends upon the capability of the flexible joint to bear impact and vibration.According to its structural characterisfics,it can be divided into four rigid bodies.A discrete dynamic model of DTG is built up and responses under random road surface loading are calculated in the frequency domain.The results indicate that rougher road and higher transport velocity will lead to stronger vibration of the flexible joint.But the deformations of the neck of the flexible joint induced by four actual random loadings are all very little.So transporting such a missile without power supply is safe.
