ANALYSIS OF AEOLIAN VIBRATION OF UHV TRANSMISSION CONDUCTOR BY FINITE ELEMENT METHOD

Differing from the traditional energy balance method(EBM)the finite element method(FEM)is adopted to analyze the aero-vibration of 1000kV UHV transmission conductors. Making use of the energy equivalence theory, the aero-vibration force is educed according to the wind power curve published by Diana Falco in 1971; the hysteresis damping and friction damping in conductors are translated into viscous damping. Based on the relationship between amplitude and curvature, the distribution of dynamic bending strain alone the conductor is obtained. Compared with EBM, FEM is more effective and believable and takes the mass and stiffness of conductors and dampers into consideration. Influenial factors towards aero-vibration are analyzed by means of FEM, for instance, the tensile force, the suspension height, the physiognomy of passing through, the span and the number of subconductors.
