PSO control used in magnetorheological intelligent structures

In the course of the vibration mitigation control of structures with magnetorheological(MR) dampers,the displacement and the acceleration responses are two important control targets.That is,the vibration mitigation control of structures with MR dampers is a multi-objective optimization control.The particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm was thus used to control the displacement and the acceleration responses simultaneously.The numerical analysis of a five-floors structure with one MR damper installed on each floor was carried out,taking advantage of the PSO algorithm,the ON control algorithm and the OFF control algorithm respectively.It can be concluded that by use of the PSO algorithm the displacement responses of the structure can be reduced obviously,meanwhile,the acceleration responses of the structure can only be reduced to a certain extent.
