Virtual tuning damper

The concept of virtual tuning damper(VTD) stemming from tuning mass damper(TMD) was introduced.The mathematical model of VTD was deduced based on the basis principle of TMD.The parameters of VTD were designed by deciding the placement of poles and zeros,which was explained by an example.The influence of non-pure modal measurement on VTDk and the modal control spillover were analyzed.The method regarding optimal placement for VTDk was presented.The application of multi-VTD was studied.VTD can be designed by use of commercial control design software.The realization of VTD is more flexible than MTD.It is easy to control the wide-band vibration by use of multi-VTD.
