Numerical simulation of free surface flow impacting elastic structure with SPH uniform method

Free surface flow impacting elastic structure is a common problem,usually referring to interface track,elastic or plastic structural deformation and fluid-structure interaction. To simulate these problems,it has to capture the deformation of interfacial flow and compute the fluid structure coupling interaction accurately. A smoothing particle hydrodynamics( SPH) uniform method where both fluid and solid phases are described by SPH was presented and the uniform continuous medium governing equations and week pressure state equation were solved. A new contact algorithm with the structure surface particles treated as virtual particles was developed. The virtual particles were defined in initial particle configuration,containing both fluid and structure particle characters and producing repulsive force to prevent penetration. Comparing the numerical results with experimental ones,it is demonstrated that the SPH uniform method with the new contact algorithm can be used to simulate the free surface flow impacting elastic structure problem easily and accurately.
