Dynamic performance of alumina bubble-basalt fiber lightweight aggregate concrete

The dynamic mechanical properties of plain concrete,basalt fiber reinforced concrete,alumina bubble concrete and basalt fiber-alumina bubble concrete were investigated by using a 100 mm diameter split Hopkinson pressure bar( SHPB) system under various strain rates. The constitutive model was established based on the experiments. The results of the four series specimens indicate that an increasing trend of dynamic compressive strength,peak strain,average strain and fractal dimension will be displayed as the strain rate increases. With the adding of alumina bubble,the dynamic compressive strength and elastic modulus decrease while the peak strain and average strain increase obviously. An experienced dynamic constitutive model was established based on the nonlinear elastic constitutive model by considering the influence of strain rate and alumina bubble and the simulated curves can well fit the testing curves.
