High-resolution time reversal focused localization method for cylindrical noise source with horizontal array

The multipath effect is caused by the surface and the bottom of the sea. When the underwater target is in shallow water,the localization of the noise source is usually influenced by the multipath effect,so that the use of horizontal array to achieve near-field high-resolution localization will be restrained. In that case,serious background fluctuation may appear and even a false target may be reached. On the basis of establishing a measurement model,the cylindrical focused beamforming localization method was introduced for both narrowband and broadband signal. In the method,on the one hand,the amplitude compensation was applied to the MVDR to fully utilize the amplitude and phase informations,and on the other hand,based on the method of image source and the reciprocity of wave propagation,a spatial focused steering vector was constructed in accordance with the characteristics of underwater acoustic multipath channel. The simulation demonstrates that the method can overcome the multipath effect and achieve the high-resolution localization of cylindrical noise source.
