Effects of preloading and vibration level on the vibration characteristics of metal rubber damper

Based on a theoretical vibration attenuation mechanism of metal rubber damper under random vibration,the theory of linear random vibration,as well as the nonlinear mechanical characteristics of metal rubber,a formula for the description of root-mean-square acceleration response of metal rubber damper system under random vibration was derived.Sweep sine experiment and random vibration experiment were performed to study the effects of preloading and vibration level on the vibration characteristics of metal rubber damper. The theoretical calculation results were compared with the experimental ones,and the range for practical use of the formula was determined.
