Design criteria for unique ribbon wound pressure vessel

By investigating into the bursting pressure, steel ribbon winding angle, suitable core thickness and load carrging characteristics of Chinese flat steel ribbon wound pressure vessel, the authors think that it is desirable to adopt the design criterion of bursting failure, to choose 100% for joint effiency,2. 5 for bursting safety factor and 15-30 degrees for windingangle, and that the thickness of the inner core should not be less than 1/6 of the total wallthickness.
