Thermodynamic analysis of heat pipe heat exchanger

Today's analyses of heat pipe heat exchanger mostly depend on the law of energy conservation with the consideration of heat transfer only. However,the thermodynamic analysis to its heat transfer processes and economical efficiency of energy recovery on the basis of the second law of thermodynamics is rarely seen. In this paper,using the exergy or availability function,the analytical investigation of exergy optimization is done to a gas-to-air with gas-to-water combinated heat pipe heat exchanger as an example. Thus,a selective scheme of the optimal parameters of hot and cool fluids is presented and the energy efficiency of this kind of energy analysis of heat pipe heat exchanger is studied. In all ,a method of exergy analysis of heat pipe heat exchanger is given in this paper.
