Backcalculation of soil parameters using Love wave dispersion characteristics

The formulation of back calculating soil parameters of layered soils using Love wave method is developed by using damped least square method. The Love wave dispersion curve in a layered soil can be easily obtained by using combination of finite element and semi-infinite element methods as stated in Ref. [1]-Based on it, the authors present the method of back calculation of soil parameters from the measured Love wave dispersion curve , and its computer program is worked out . The applicability and availability of the method presented are confirmed by numerical examples.
