Independent modal H_∞ control of vibration flexible structures

The robust \%H\-∞\% control design has been developed for each controlled modal vibration of a flexible structure. The modal disturbance attenuation problem and the robustness with respect to modal parameter variation are considered simultaneously. The vibration in a flexible structure is more effectively suppressed, and the active vibration control system designed by this method has a stronger robustness to modal parameter variation. Numerical simulations have been performed by considering the robust control for vibration of a cantilever beam as an example. The simulation results validate the theoretical analyses presented.
