Investigation into looper control system for finishing mill

In a looper system,the interaction of tension and looper angle badly influences the tension control.The active disturbance rejection controller,instead of PI controller,was applied in the looper control system.Compared with the traditional PID control theory,the method gets over the differential obsession by integral transformation,combines the control engineering experience by nonlinear combination of error,and reduces disturbances by error estimation.The results showed that the active disturbance rejection control method which observing disturbance of tension deriving from fluctuation of looper angle achieved better performance than the classic one.
