Static force characteristics of low-power-consumption bi-directional linear force motor used for high hydraulic pressure

A bi-directional linear force motor with low power consumption was presented aiming at the disadvantage of high power consumption of conventional electromechanical converter for electro-hydraulic servo and proportional valves.The motor overcomes the nonlinearity of force-versus-position characteristics,reduces non-operating air-gaps and improves electromagnetic transfer efficiency by designing dovetail pole-head and groove based on the principle of differential control formed by permanent-magnet polarizing flux and control flux produced by coil.The flux distribution under different exciting currents and positions was simulated based on the finite element model,and the cause and characteristics of stroke versus displacement were discussed.The simulation results accorded with the experimental results.The motor has positive magnetic spring stiffness,high level of linearity,low hysteresis and low power consumption.
