Time-varying element model of high-speed traction elevator and its horizontal vibration response analysis

A time-varying element model of hoist cable-car system was proposed to investigate the vibration of high-speed traction elevator due to the time-varying feature of hoist cable.The system was modeled as a moving elastic string with a mass-spring-damper part attached at the bottom representing the elevator car.The horizontal nonlinear dynamic equation with parametric excitation for high-speed traction elevator was derived according to the Lagrange method.The nonlinear horizontal vibration response of high-speed traction elevator was calculated based on the precise integration method utilizing the 5th order polynomial fitted movement profile as the input.Results show that the time-varying element model and its solving method are effective in revealing the nonlinear time-varying characteristics of traction elevator,and the inherent "unstable shortening cable behavior" encountered in traction elevator system is explained in theory.
