Modeling and optimization of rotary traveling wave oscillator

An efficient method for the global optimization of rotary traveling wave oscillator(RTWO) was proposed.The equations of transmission line parameters and performance measures were formulated in polynomial form by curve fitting based on the systematic analysis of the equivalent circuit model.The optimization problem was relaxed to be a geometric programming(GP) which could be efficiently solved with a convex optimization solver.Low-power experimental results show that up to 83.12% of power dissipation was reduced for a 12 GHz design compared to the power-unaware design.The scheme is more efficient and results in designs with lower power dissipation and better signal waveforms compared with an existing low-power design method.
