Study on control performance of digital piston pump based on virtual prototype technology

In order to develop a new type of digital hydraulic pump and study its control characteristics,with the high-speed on/off valve control,a new type of control mode for digital piston pump was developed to realize different functions by changing a controller program.The dynamic and hydraulic models were established by analyzing the control principle of this digital pump.An interface was designed to connect the two models,and a virtual prototype of this digital pump was built in the virtual prototype platform.The flow control,pressure control and power control of this digital pump were studied in two ways:the simulation of the virtual prototype and the experiments of the physics prototype.The results showed that accurate pressure and flow control can be realized in less than 2 s,and accurate constant power control can be performed.So the digital pump is convenient to meet different control requirements by using defining way.Besides,the virtual prototype technology can well predict the pump performance and would be a good choice in designing and optimizing the digital pumps.
