Experimental study on SO_2 absorption rate enhanced by additive in limestone-gypsum WFGD process

The additive enhancement method for limestone-gypsum wet limestone flue gas desulfurization(WFGD)process was analyzed to increase the efficiency of the existing WFGD in coal-fired power plants in order to meet increasingly stringent environmental standards in our country.The influencing factors on the SO2 absorption rate enhanced by additives in WFGD process were analyzed with a stirred tank.Experimental results show that the SO2 absorption rates increase with the increasing of the additive mass fraction,the SO2 inlet volume fraction,reaction temperature,and the stirring speed ratio of the liquid and the gas,but decrease as the reaction time is longer.Further analysis of the experimental results shows that the use of additive can increase the desulfurization reaction enhancement factor and the mass transfer coefficients, thus promote the SO2 absorption rate.
