Equivalent and integrated method for information of multiple physical fields on heterogeneous finite element meshes

A primary-secondary-mesh method which focuses on how to integrate the information of the multiple physical fields on heterogeneous finite element meshes was proposed.One of the heterogeneous meshes is taken as primary mesh and the other the secondary one.The properties of the secondary mesh are equivalent to those of the primary mesh by the inverse isoperimetric mapping method,then,the multiphysical fields on different meshes are integrated and visualized on the primary mesh with the red,green,and blue(RGB)color model.An example that the nodal property of the part's quadrilateral mesh being equivalent to that of its triangular mesh was presented.The high consistency of the stress distribution figures and the contour maps of these two meshes shows that this method is correct.This method was used to integrate and visualize the two fields of stress and temperature on the cutters and disk cutter of the shield machine.The results show that the two field's actions are stronger on the blade of the cutter and weaker on the disk cutter.Some advices on the structural design of the cutter and the disk cutter by the finite element analysis were given.
