Study of nonlinear analysis for arch dam based on complete adjustment trial load method

LIU Guo hua,WANG Shu yu,BAO Zhi ren(Dept.of Civil Engineering,Zhejiang Univ.,Hangzhou 310027,China)  
The paper presents a nonlinear analysis algorithm for arch dam.Based on the basic principle of trial load method,The arch and cantilever's rigidness equation with nonlinear material property is derived.The methods for determining and tracing the crack extension are given.The influences of crevices to the stress and strain of dam body are studied.The methods can be used for engineering design and safety assessment of arch dams.
