On the Immigration into Southwestern Guangxi Province in the Qing Dynasty

After the Sino-France war, China's borderland crisis became more serious. The government of the Qing Dynasty actively carried out an immigration policy into southwestern Guangxi province and had a lot of people moved there. This immigration policy not only established the present pattern of various peoples in southwestern Guangxi province, but also had a profound influence upon national-defence and the politics, economy and culture of Guangxi province. At the same time, it also promoted the social progress of Guangxi province.
