Critical Comments on “Semiconducting Lightning Eliminator”

 
A critical comment on the possibility of lightning elimination by virtue of the resistive air termination is given in this paper. Neither theoretical analysis nor preliminary verification test could support the claimed currentlimiting performance of the eliminator. The evidence from the field applications implies that the eliminator could offer no more protection than the conventional lightning rod.
