Distance control for automotive's stopping with retarder

MA Jian, CHEN Yin san, YU Qiang, GUO Rong qing (School of Automobile, Chang′an University, Xi′an 710064, China)  
Automotive retarder was equipped on automobile for rapidly stopping on smooth and straight road, and its working model was analyzed. The simulation model for controlling velocity with retarder based on neural network was developed to realize the stopping distance control at real time. The principle and plan of stopping distance control system were revealed and designed. With this principle and plan, the velocity can be controlled at reasonable range without using wheel brake.
