Study of technology of soft subsoil under freeway bridge embankment by the combined-preloading of vacuum dewatering and loading

From the view of stress path, authors discuss the mechanism on improving deep soft ground of freeway bridge embankment by the combined preloading of vacuum dewatering and loading. For simplicity and practicality, the calculation method of settlement and the design principle have been put forward.Based on a practical engineering, authors have analyzed the function and contribution of this method for accelerating consolidation, reducing after work settlement, and decreasing longitudinal gradient variation ratio.
