Simulation Study on Reasonable Matching of Powertrain System for Crawler Bulldozer

To provide reference for design of powertrain system,and further improve power performance and fuel economy of crawler bulldozer,with a large crawler bulldozer with hydraulic mechanical powertrain as the subject,taking factors such as ground adhesion and shift oil pressure into account,a simulation model of powertrain system for crawler bulldozer was built in Simulink/SimDriveline environment.With the comprehensive evaluation index as objective function to characterize power performance and fuel economy of crawler bulldozer,the converter effective diameter and vehicle weight,significant for crawler bulldozer's powertrain,were optimized based on the Simulink/SimDriveline-M file programming method,and the best matching combination was obtained.The values of output power and equivalent fuel consumption of driving wheel were compared with the original.The results show that at the stages of shovelling,earthmoving and earthloosing which are the typical working cases of crawler bulldozer,the output power of driving wheel is somewhat increased and the equivalent fuel consumption is decreased,and the indexes of the power performance and fuel economy of crawler bulldozer are improved.
