Study on Automatic Pipeline Welding Machine with Groove Pre-memory Information System

A control scheme of pipeline welding machine with laser scanning video imaging system was adopted for determining weld-groove positions and widthes before welding, and an absolute encoded 360° angle sensor was used for the position sensor of track pipeline welding machine. At the same time, a circuit used for picking-up informations of the groove positions and widthes had developed. According to the informations, an automatic pipeline welding machine with self-adjusting system was developed. which provided automatic arc tracing, welding parameter and welding gun position adjusting, It settles the crucial foundation for real automatic welding of pipelines and ensures the uniformity and stable welding quality.
