Modeling of Microstructure Evolution in Metal Hot Plastic Forming

Microstructural modelling plays an important role of numerical simulation in metal hot plastic forming process, and its key part is the modeling of microstructure evolution.The developments of the microstructure evolution model in metal hot plastic forming process have been summarized. Two microstructure models were reviewed in detail, which are numerical model and stochastic model. The basic concepts, suitable extents, and industrial applications of the models were described. Finally, the emphasis of the research in the future was pointed out.
