Experimental Methods and Test Evaluation for the Dynamic Characteristics of Hydraulically Damped Rubber Mount

Experimental methods for dynamic and static characteristics of HDM and its major components are presented. The test and data processing techniques are discussed, and index parameters for evaluating HDM performance are analyzed. Two HDMs with inertia tracks and their rubber springs are tested; one of the HDMs has a free uncoupler, and the other has no uncoupler. The relations between static stiffnesses of a HDM and its rubber spring in three orthogonal directions are investigated. The influences of preload, excitation amplitude and frequency on the dynamic stiffness of HDM and its rubber spring are verified. The effects of the uncoupler on dynamic characteristics of HDM are studied through comparing the test results of the two HDMs with and without the uncoupler. The dynamic fluid pressure and temperature in upper chamber of an HDM are measured under different excitation conditions. The results show that the influence of fluid viscosity variation on the performance of HDM is almost not noticeable in normal operation conditions. The experimental results presented here are instructive to the evaluation of various HDMs.
