Investigation on Electric Arc Shape of Lime Titania Type Twin Electrode

With high speed camcorder system and digital oscillograph, this paper investigated the electric arc shape of lime titania type twin electrode. Results show that the electric arc shape of lime titantia type twin electrode have great differences with the welding arc of traditional workpiece linking with power source. It can mainly be divided into centralizing form and decentralizing form.Two shapes of the electric arc have changes with different level. The shape of electric arc changes periodically, its corresponding voltage of electric arc changes also periodically. Two-core span of lime titania type carbon steel twin electrode and arc currents influence the arc shape.
