Reconfigurable Machine Tool Design

From realizing reconfigurebility over the machine tool life point of view, the design principles of RMT were presented. Based on concurrent engineering theory, a RMT design methodology that was based on concurrency of process planning and machine configuration was proposed, at the same time, the configuration/reconfiguration design process over the machine tool life was decomposed into several associated child processes. At last, aimed at realization of those child processes, taking cylinder part family machining as an example,the theory and method is submitted, viz. the key enabling technologies for RMT design.
