Fabrication of TiAl Nano-alloy by Mechanical Activation-spark Plasma Sintering Process in Situ

Using the method of mechanical activation and spark plasma sintering,a high quality TiAl/Al_2O_3 bulk nano-material was fabricated in situ.This technology enhances the fabrication efficiency of nano-alloy.The research results show that,the crystal sizes of nano-powder are less than 25nm after 20 hours mechanical activation.Through spark plasma sintering in situ,the final nano-material has dual-phase γ+α_2,and its density is 3.73g/cm~3.The crystal sizes of dual-phase are less than 130nm and the hardness of nano-alloy can reach to HV550 and uniformly distribute.The nano-alloy has good high-temperature anti-oxidation capability.The oxidation parabolic constants is better than that from traditional method by 1~2 order of magnitude.
