Poduct Growth Design Based on Generalized Assembly Principle

A generalized assembly principle as well as its theory structure for product growth de- sign was studied through the analysis of the similarity between biological growth process and product growth process.Firstly,in the stage of the product gene decomposition,in order to realize a natural selection,a derivation method in the design procedure was put forward under the constraints built up from the complexity theory analysis.Secondly,to guarantee a good match to the functionality require- ment of the product,a functional tolerance design theory with a tolerance of low assembly cost and manufacturing cost was given,in which manufacturing cost and multi-factor based fuzzy quality loss cost was used to represent the generalized assembly cost,which in turn was regarded as the con- straints of the tolerance allocation design.Then,in the stage of the product gene evolution,to assure the good quality in assembly,a product reconstruction method based on the virtual and reality co-de- sign was put forward to realize the mapping from the functional gene chain model to the concrete prod- uct structure.Finally,with the consideration of many design factors such as product complexity de- gree,product accuracy degree and manufacturing cost as well as assembly cost,a complete product growth design,with the assurance of the generalized assembly quality in the whole lifetime of the product as the kernel,is realized.
