Modeling and Simulation of a Pretension Safety Belt Installed with New Clutch Using MADYMO

A new clutch used for pretensioner of safety belt was metioned here.Based on the clutch and the mechanical structure of belt Tokai-Rika 85PT,a new safety belt was developed.Then,a MADYMO frontal impact model was built and used to compare the occupant protection effectiveness of the belt restraint systems in terms of simulating occupant kinematics,chest and head injury responses.The results show that the new safety belt can significantly reduce the injury responses and has better protection performance.
